Grace's Homecoming

Grace loves to hold the caterpillars. She thinks they are cute:) We must watch her so that she does not hold them too tight.

Josiah loves watching the caterpillars eat leaves. We have been raising several to allow the kids to observe the changes over the full lifespan.

This is a family picture taken on the day we joined First Chinese Baptist Church. We have a loving church family. We are some of the few Caucasins in the church but we hardly notice. We love it.

TWO AWESOME YEARS on Valentine's Day.
It is amazing how quickly time has passed. God has blessed us tremendously in all of our children.

Grace's Grandma Sue bought her a battery for the Jeep and she loves it. She drives like a crazy woman.

The boys got a new hair cut. I have never given them a crew cut before and I got it a little too short. They love it. They don't have to comb it:)
Texas Chinese cow girls!
Once Grace and Ester got used to each other, they had a great time. They actually played well together.

Barbara and Michael Rayle from our adoption travel group came over for supper one night. The little girl Samuel is holding is Ester their daughter. She is a beautiful little girl. They also have a son from China named Timothy.
Samuel's 10th birthday party.
Wow! It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital yesterday. He is growing up to be a godly young man who loves Christ and wants to tell others about Him. He is starting his 5th grade year in school.

We are here and have been for about 7 weeks. This picture was taken the first week. Texas had had an amazingly cool summer up until the week we moved in and it was back to the norm with 100 degree weather. My Mom came and helped us unpack which was awesome. Thanks Mom!!!

We are moving to Dallas on July 31. Barry was accepted to Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). He is currently taking online courses while here in Arkansas but he will take classes on campus in the fall. Please be praying for us about many things but especially the change from small town to large town. I have become a country girl at heart. The house we are living in is the only one that the boys have known. Please pray for the kids and the changes for them. Grace does not deal well with change.

We are excited about the home school opportunities which are limitless it seems :)

Grace continues to amaze us everyday. A couple of weeks ago, we had a Chinese family over for supper that we have known for a long time. They have a daughter a month younger than Grace. Grace found her Bible and began talking to Fei Fei in child language and pointing to her Bible. Later, she began to talking to the Grandfather also. Neither Fei Fei nor the Grandfather speak English. Barry and I smiled and decided we might have a missionary in our family.

The boys are doing great and have become awesome big brothers. Usually when Grace is in trouble, she wants the boys to rescue her. The boys have finished another school year. It is amazing how time flies. I have been teaching Samuel for 5 years now. WOW!

We already know where we will be living which helps this organizing person a lot. God knew how much uncertainty I can handle.

We spent time at the park on a beautiful spring afternoon. Samuel climbed over the monkey bars and he stopped to take time to think. What a place to think. He takes his job as the older brother very seriously-at times:)

Josiah is having fun climbing over the monkey bars.

Grace loves to swing. The higher the better and the more that she laughs. I love to hear her laugh.

Josiah accepted Jesus into his heart a few weeks before we went to China last year to pick up Grace. We were finally able to get both Grandmas in town at the same time. He was baptized on February 25, 2007. Barry and I were standing just off to the side and got to watch the whole thing up close. What an awesome feeling taking our son through another step in his life as a Christian.

Barry celebrated his 42nd birthday on the day we had our last home visit concerning Grace's adoption. We are finally through. YEAH!!!!
Grace is wearing Samuel's pjs. The only problem is that she has both legs in one leg of his pjs. She had a hard time walking.

We remodeled the upstairs loft room and the boys got to move in. They both were allowed to select their curtains. Josiah picked out football players and Samuel selected planets. They love having their own room.

Grace received boots for Christmas from her Grandma Sue and she loves them. I think I have a girl who loves girlie things :)

The kids loved Christmas.

Grace loves to mimic everything we do so we bought her a kitchen and she loves it. She washed her hands first. She loves to be clean.

Josiah loves the Arkansas Razorbacks and he received a uniform for Christmas from his Grandma Elmore. He was one happy boy. I had to get him to take it off after three days so that I could wash it.

Samuel received a science kit for Christmas from his Grandma Elmore. Science is probably his favorite subject in school.

The boys swept up a huge pile of leaves to play in and I took a picture of all three of them. What a blessing.

The kids got to go to the Fall Festival at church Sunday night. They had a blast. The boys decided what they wanted to be.

Josiah went as Captain Hook. He looks pretty fierce.

Samuel makes a very convincing clown. Look at his eyes :)

Grace went as a Chinese princess.
